PAU GETS AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE FOR AGRI BUSINESS INCUBATION 		    
     Punjab Agricultural University got best award for excellence in agri-food business incubators, Agri-Food India Awards 2021. On behalf of PAU, Dr. TS Riar, Additional Director Communication and Principal Investigator Punjab Agri Business Incubation Centre Dr. Poonam Sachdev, Head, Dept of Food Science & Technology jointly received the award from Sh. Prahlad Singh Patel, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India and the Chief Guest of the occasion. The award ceremony was held at Hotel Royal Plaza, New Delhi organized and supported by NIFTAM, NIAM, ICAR, IIMR and CFMIIT Budni (M.P.). Following the award ceremony, Dr. Poonam Sachdev informed that PAU is running two incubators, Food Industry Business Incubator and Punjab Agri Business Incubator funded by Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. “PAU Food Industry Business Incubation Centre shared 41 technologies to 41 different stakeholders including different farmers, different growers, start-ups and small & big industries” she informed. Dr. Sachdev revealed that Punjab Agri Business Incubator also handholded 118 incubates under its Udham and Udaan Programmes and got funding of 4.08 crores as grant-in-aid for the best selected 30 PAU Agri Start-ups in our first two cohorts. She said “Now Punjab Agro Business Incubator is running its third cohort with 45 selected incubates for their final funding from the Ministry and they are being given complete handholding and mentorship” PAU Vice Chancellor Sh. DK Tiwari IAS, Director of Research Dr. NS Bains and Dean Postgraduate Studies Dr. JS Mahal congratulated the team of Punjab Agri Business Incubation Centre for this remarkable achievement. Mr. Rahul Gupta, Assistant Manager from PAU also attended the award ceremony.
